Star-Spangled Banner

O! say can you see by the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming.
Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming.
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

...Francis Scott Key

is the national anthem of the United States. It moves me to tears every time. One of my favorite rendition is by Whitney Houston.

There is only one national anthem and I believe it's wrong to change it from one anthem to another based on racial or ethic group.

  • Yeah, I have to agree with you even though I've never been a flag waving kind of guy.

  • I agree that Whitney's is one of hte best I've heard as well. She had a great voice before she turned to drugs.

And yeah, I don't think we should be re-writing our anthem to satisy any particular group.
