Sketch of Agony

You suffer in quietude, you speak to her mechanically, while the heart writhes in agony like a knife thrust into your heart.

I rewatched "Love Actually" yesterday. I loved the conversation between Sam and Daniel:

Sam: ... But the truth is I'm in love ... and there's nothing I can do about it.
Daniel: Aren't you a bit young to be in love?
Sam: No.
Daniel: Oh, OK, right. Well, I'm a little relieved.
Sam: Why?
Daniel: Well, you know - I thought it might be something worse.
Sam: [incredulous] Worse than the total agony of being in love?
Daniel: Oh. No, you're right. Total agony.

  • ok, you're the third person who stated in passing that they watched that movie this weekend . . . must be something in the air . . .

  • Parzanese, I've heard of the film. All star cast. I haven't seen it, however.. but maybe it's about time I see it. And, yes and that thing in the air, it's contagious.... as you personally know :)

  • I love this movie, too, and that scene is hilarious. Interesting to get that analysis from a kid, huh? I also loved it when he said "we need Kate and Leo" b/c I did that to myself last weekend for the same reason.

As always, beautiful imagery. I'm so envious.

  • I watched this movie for the first time with my sister and my niece. My 12 year old niece is totally hooked, got my sister to buy her the movie, and now I see it on our tv at least twice a week. I love that even a 12 year old can enjoy and appreciate a movie of this nature.
