April 1 - Sketch of the Birthday Girl

Happy Birthday, Becky. Though, I am still a novice, I love sketching the human face.

Her face dominated by her amazing eyes. Her lips, imho, is her signature feature (also the most difficult for me to draw). I am trying to get back to basics and finetune my drawing skills more. I'd like to retire one day as a portrait painter.

Becky's birthday gave me an opportunity to once again capture her spirit!

:( if there is no resemblence, sorry, Becky! I will improve, I promise.

I hope you have a HAPPY BIRTHDAY,GIRL!

  • Aymiee, if art like that is the work of a "novice," I dunno what category I'd fall under

    (thinking)

  • Wow! Aymiee, thank you so much! I think it's a great pic. If anything, you drew the lips way too sexy:) I'm flattered you took the time to do this.

I'm going to have to showcase it on my page. You are so talented and a great friend.

    Thank you again.

  • Aymiee, you continue to amaze me. This is proof that your flying and guitar playing will eventually become easy for you. And all that other cool stuff you do. That cute little girl sure has a cool Mom.

  • Wow, this is fantastic for someone just starting to capture the human face. I love your artwork, and I hope to see more of it soon. You are truly gifted.

  • Are you kidding? The resemblence is perfect Aymiee!

  • Wow, Thanks guys!!! Becky sure draws in a lot of crowd. That just attest to how great of a friend she is. I might have to do a Becky Friday's.

Bud - give me another five years, and maybe I can attempt to play the Blues with you???

Jack - a new face to my rambling blog, thank you for visiting! We are artist when as kids, and then as we get older, we get frustrated when our childhood art lacks self realism. Some give up, me included. I am hoping to overcome this frustration and use art to start expressing myself.

Sharron -- now you!!! your photography hobby has sure taken a leap!! It's amazing how much time we have to pursue our hobbies when we aren't caught up in the daily dramas.

  • You give me way too much credit, my dear. First of all, Curator is referring to YOU as having the chops. Secondly, everyone in here is your regular reader...except Jess but she's my blood anyway:)

So, stop being so frickin' humble and celebrate your own self tonight!

  • It is wonderful, Aymiee. Looks just like her (pretty as a picture..hee hee) which is more than I can say for the one I did. Not that I'm a portraitist, but poor Becky may keel over when she sees it.

  • MissDaze, I love your style of painting! If only I was creative enough to come up with ideas like that!! Your art truly captured her spirit!

  • Aymiee, that's fantastic! It's been really amazing to see the perspectives on Becky from the artist's conception. :)

    What a wonderful gift!

  • Great pic! Sorry I missed your birthday recently. I hope it was a good one. I usually send virtual trick candles that you can't blow out. Since I'm so late wishing you well, maybe I should send virtual flowers or something

And thanks for stopping by my site last week. It will probably be a couple more weeks before I can start posting again.
